This unit has a production of 40 Mtons per day. This Unit is basically a sacking based Unit and its products command a premium in the domestic market. The company also plans to convert its entire production into 100% Food Grade (Hydrocarbon Free) products. The demand for which is increasing.



Surya Twine Mills Pvt. Ltd.

A 100% Jute spinning Unit situated in the jute growing area of North Bengal has a manufacturing capacity to make 15 Mton of Jute Yarn and twine daily. The Unit is basically catering to local demand and has plans to increase its capacity to 20 Mton per day by the end of year 2007.

THE MJ GROUP WITH ITS FLAGSHIP COMPANY HOWRAH MILLS WAS A SUCCESSFUL BIDDER FOR 74% STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP OF WEST BENGAL AGRO TEXTILE CORPORATION LIMITED (WBATC) FOR THE UNIT OF BHARAT JUTE MILLS, GOVT. OF WEST BENGAL.

AFTER THIS STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP, WHICH SCORED HIGH ON TECHNICAL SIDE, IT I S ALSO PLANNED TO UNDERGO A FINANCIAL RESTRUCTURING OF THE UNIT.

CURRENTLY, THE PRODUCTION IS VERY LOW AT 6/7 M.T. PER DAY WHICH SHALL BE INCREASED TO 25 MT. PER DAY IN THE 1ST YEAR. THE ACQUISITION PLAN INCLUDES RENOVATION & ADDITION OF BALANCE MACHINERIES IN THE 1ST YEAR ITSELF. HOWEVER, THERE IS ALSO A PLAN TO START A SECOND UNIT WITHIN ITS PREMISES IN THE 1ST YEAR OF OPERATION.

AT PRESENT THE MILL ENGAGES MORE THAN 500 PEOPLE. THE SCOPE OF EMPLOYMENT GENERATION WILL SUBSTANTIALLY INCREASE WITH THE SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS & CAPACITY UTILIZATION.
